Office phone: 248.816.2558 The Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center was created to be a different experience for my patients. My 15 years as a pediatrician has allowed me to form clear ideas about how to improve the delivery of medical care for children. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to build a new kind of practice from the ground up. With an emphasis on healthy living and all that that means, my practice and The Wellness Center will have resources, guidance, books, and products to help you. We have Kimberly Kelly a PhD psychologist in the office two half days a week to help you weather the challenges that marriage and children and life bring. I enjoy keeping my knowledge current through reading, attending conferences, writing for the Detroit News, organizing continuing medical education conferences with with American Academy of Pediatrics, and answering your questions. I blend the best of traditional medicine with alternative and complementary treatments. I try hard to avoid using antibiotics unless necessary and will suggest everything from probiotics for eczema and fish oils for Vitamin D to meditation for anxiety and attention issues. I recommend courses of treatment that are based on scientific evidence but with the growing body of data evaluating alternative and complementary approaches, the options are ever broadening. I love guiding and advising parents and do so through email, information on this site, lectures, and through my column in the Detroit News. Children of all ages, with different strengths and weaknesses, and their parents will feel comfortable, supported and listened to in my office. What brings me joy in my every day life at work is the fact that I know you and your children well. That I am accessible, available, approachable makes this relationship we will grow over the years that much richer and more productive. By knowing you, your worries and quirks, your strengths and world views, as well as your growing children, we can work together to keep your child healthy and well physically, emotionally, intellectually, and psychologically. Share your thoughts and concerns and brag about your kids and we will work very well together.
