Stephanie Bauer, RN, IBCLC

Hello.  My name is Stephanie Bauer, a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).   I am thrilled to join the staff at Life + Wellness as the Lactation Specialist!  I have been an RN since 1997 and earned my IBCLC Certification in 2008.  I have spent over eleven years working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. My inspiration to become a Lactation Specialist came from working closely with critically-ill newborns whose lives benefitted greatly from their own mother’s milk and breastfeeding. Having witnessed the benefits these children received from their mother’s milk and breastfeeding made me want to learn more.  I have also witnessed the numerous benefits of breastfeeding with my own two children, Evan (nine years old) and Camden (nine months old). I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits of breast milk and breastfeeding for babies and their mothers.  My goal is to create a warm and comfortable environment for breastfeeding mothers to gain support, knowledge, and resources.  In doing so, I hope to help mothers and their families understand and embrace the benefits of breastfeeding.

Call 248.816.2558 to schedule your appointment

*All payment for consultations will be directly billed to patient and expected at time of service. Looking for a Qualified Pediatrician to join our group!

Hi!

My name is Cinzia Mancini and I am a business partner and Administrator of Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center in Troy, MI.

Three years ago my business partner, Molly O'Shea, MD and I came together to start a new concept in delivering quality medical care. Although the the office uses traditional, evidence-based medicine we deliver it in a non-traditional way. Our office uses email to communicate with patients, has individual patient waiting rooms and couches instead of exam tables as well as a Wellness Center located within our practice.

Currently we have one full-time Pediatrician, one part-time Pediatrician and one full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. We are looking for a second full-time Pediatrician to join our group. Our employment package is flexible and competitive.

Please take a look at our website to see a little glimpse of our office. Contact me if you or someone you know may be interested in joining us!

My email is : cinzia@birminghampediatrics.com
My office # 248.816.2558

Thank you for your time!

Nov 1, 2010     MORE FLU CLINIC DATES

It is not too late to get your child immunized against the flu SO COME TO OUR NEXT FLU CLINIC!

After our very successful flu clinic last week we are ready to schedule our next two clinics!  There was virtually no line and everyone was in and out in under 20-30 minutes.   Woo hoo! :-)

Our next flu clinics will be:

Tuesday November 9, 2010 from 5pm-6:30 pm &

Thursday December 9 from 5pm- 6:30 pm This clinic will be perfect timing for those children needing their second dose of flu vaccine. (All children under 9 receiving flu vaccine for the first time will need a second dose at least 28 days after the first dose was given)

We will have both Flu Mist and injectable flu vaccine for all of our patients regardless of age. (We will not be able to vaccinate patients that have never been seen here before. Please call 248.816.2558 to schedule a new patient appointment)

We will only be giving vaccines during these times so if you think your child is sick or needs to be seen please schedule an appointment.

For those of you that can not make these flu clinics we will be allowing flu shot only appointments during our immunization only appointment times between 7:45 and 8:45 Tues and Wed mornings.

If you have general flu-clinic questions please contact: cinzia@birminghampediatrics.com.

If you have medical questions please email a provider.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our flu clinic!

Oct 27,2010

GREAT NEWS!!! We have received all of our flu vaccine. We literally received the rest of our order today so our timing is perfect for our clinic. We should have enough doses of injectable and Flu Mist for everyone coming tomorrow night to our flu clinic.

The flu clinic will be between 5:30-7:30 pm on Oct 28, 2010.

Again please read the information below so that you are up to date and can have any questions answered before coming in tomorrow night. We will not be open to see sick children as this is strictly a flu clinic.

FLU VACCINE CLINIC DATE IS ANNOUNCED

We will be having our flu clinic for established patients on Thursday Oct 28, 2010 from 5:30 pm until 7:30pm. We still have not received our full vaccine order but do not want to wait any longer to offer a clinic. This will mean we can only administer the vaccine on a first-come-first serve basis. (please watch the website as the date gets nearer for any updates on supply etc.) You will need to be checked in by 7:30 pm to receive the vaccine that evening.

Due to limited supplies of injectable vaccine for children of all ages, all eligible children over the age of two will be given the Flu Mist. If you have questions or concerns please email a provider ahead of time so that your questions can be answered.

If your child is under 9 years of age and this is the first year he/she will be getting the flu vaccine OR he/she only received one dose of H1N1 vaccine last year then he/she will need two doses at least 4 weeks apart this year. If your child is under the age of 9 and received no H1N1 last year then he/she will need two doses at least 4 weeks apart this year.

If your child has already received the flu vaccine this year and needs a second dose there must be at least 4 weeks in between the doses. Please check this prior to coming in on the night of the flu clinic.

If your child is sick the night of the clinic we will NOT be able to evaluate his/her health. If you have any questions or concerns you should either make an appointment or email a provider PRIOR to coming in to the clinic for the vaccine.

If you are new to our office and/or would like to become a patient please call 248.816.2558 to set up a new patient appointment. We will not be able to give you the flu vaccine unless you are an established patient.

We will announce any other plans for other flu clinics after we get through this first one.
