Meet our Lactation Specialist:
Stephanie Bauer, RN, IBCLC
Hello. My name is Stephanie Bauer, a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I am thrilled to join the staff at Life + Wellness as the Lactation Specialist! I have been an RN since 1997 and earned my IBCLC Certification in 2008. I have spent over eleven years working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. My inspiration to become a Lactation Specialist came from working closely with critically-ill newborns whose lives benefitted greatly from their own mother’s milk and breastfeeding. Having witnessed the benefits these children received from their mother’s milk and breastfeeding made me want to learn more. I have also witnessed the numerous benefits of breastfeeding with my own two children, Evan (nine years old) and Camden (nine months old). I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits of breast milk and breastfeeding for babies and their mothers. My goal is to create a warm and comfortable environment for breastfeeding mothers to gain support, knowledge, and resources. In doing so, I hope to help mothers and their families understand and embrace the benefits of breastfeeding.
