The Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center was created to translate 15 years of experience as a pediatrician into a different, better form of medical care for children. Coming to our doctor's office is as pleasant and stress-free as possible for parents and children. Scheduling your appointment is easy and convenient, with same day appointments and times that are convenient for you and your family. The individually themed patient rooms and Wellness Center provide books, activities and other resources to help families lead healthier, more active and more fun lives. Your experience at Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center will be unlike any you've had at a pediatrician's office.

I am dedicated to communicating with and helping parents of children of all ages.  I will email you to give you support and advice whenever you need me, even in the evenings or on the weekends.  I will provide you with resources on this site and in the office so you can have up to date information and advice.  I also write a column for the Detroit News several days a week with great content.  Read it and enjoy!

What's New

2nd H1N1 Clinic

 

GREAT NEWS: We still have some H1N1 vaccine left over so we are offering a second clinic!

It will be on Wednesday December 9, 2009 from 6pm-8pm. The timing will be perfect for second doses for all those children under the age of 9 years.

The majority of our doses is in the Mist form (we have about 200 doses). We have a limited supply of injectable vaccine for those children under 36 months of age (around 100 doses) and for those children over the age of 4years (around 50 doses).

The vaccine will be administered on a first-come-first-serve basis and, as always, you do need to be a patient of Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center to get vaccinated. 

We will NOT be making appointments in the office for the sole purpose of receiving the H1N1 vaccine so please plan on coming to the clinic.

 

 

As many of you know, I have hired a wonderful doctor, Dr. Stacey Wittenberg, who is now working a couple of days a week on a regular basis (currently every Wednesday and Friday) and as time goes on, she'll be working even more!  Stacey first started filling in for me while I was away on vacation back in April and she is a GEM!  She went to Wayne State for med school and then finished her pediatric residency at Beaumont in 2001 and worked in private practice for more than four years and then as a staff attending in Pediatrics and the After Hours Clinic at Beaumont.  She has now returned to the world of private practice and I am thrilled to have her as part of the Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center family!  Stacey is married to Marc Wittenberg (a pain medicine doc) and they have three boys, Sam (7), Zach (5), and Jonah (2) who are the loves of her life (just ask her :-) 

Dr. Stacey will be just as available by email as I am all the time and will also be taking some weekend and evening call so you may get an auto-reply directing you to forward your questions to her.  It took me a long time and many interviews with many other docs before finding just the right person and Dr. Stacey is that person!   I am sure you will love her!
