In 2008, after 15 years in practice we decided to start something new. We wanted families to have a different kind of experience in the office: comfortable, welcoming, family-focused care that empowers parents and children to take control of their health and wellness.

We have built an amazing team of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, RNs, MAs, billing and front office staff as well as a lactation specialist all dedicated to partnering with you to provide top notch care in a non-traditional setting.

I am the Executive Director and non-physician co-founder of Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center. I am the Executive Director and non-physician co-founder of Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness Center. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and am a Spartan for life. Go Green! I am an active member of MGMA, the AAPC and enjoy working in the business of medicine. I am a spiritual person and have a very strong faith in God. I am extremely blessed to have a wonderful husband and twin boys that keep me on my toes and smiling. I love to entertain and am always looking for ways to bring people together to share joy and food!

NP Lori Carlson

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner / Provider
My name is Lori. I started my pediatrics career nearly 20 years ago as an RN. I went to U of M and received my masters degree and certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner over 12 years ago. I grew up in Waterford, MI and lived there until moving to Brandon Township 10 years ago. I live there with my husband and two boys. We love sports, especially soccer and baseball. Spare time is spent taking care of our mini farm with 10 chickens , a dog, a rabbit, a guinea pig and a garden.

Dr. Yasmin Sanchez

Kamusta? Friends call me Yasmin and I’m from the Philippines. I served as a community doctor for 6 years back home. I had my Pediatrics training in New York and worked several years as an emergency room pediatrician at Elmhurst Hospital until the first peak of the pandemic. My husband Jeff (Peds-ID) found his new work home at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and we made the big move in 2020 with our rainbow-loving son Julian. We have yet to visit any of the popular sites around but we are ready to explore unencumbered. Next to my stethoscope, I use my phone to amplify my skills as doctor. I like compiling practical online resources and I’m always on the lookout for new (free) apps, medical or otherwise. I look forward to meeting you in person!

Dr. Molly O’Shea

I am Michigan girl through and through! Born and raised nearby, I went to Marian High School and then UofM for undergrad and med school. I loved my residency years at Childrens Hospital of Michigan and have been in private practice ever since. I have been very involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics as a journal editor and wrote for a few years as the Ask the Pediatrician columnist for The Detroit News. I have a great husband and big blended family with 5 kids. Needless to say I cook a lot and luckily I love it!

Dr. Tulika Narain

I have been a pediatrician for over 20 years and it has been a lot of fun. Being a huge football fan, I tend to think of life in sports terms. I have a simple philosophy, medicine is a team sport. I truly believe that when parents and doctors work together and communicate well, it results in the best care for the patient. Parents know their children better than anyone else and I really respect their input and honesty. I try to give that honesty and sincerity back to them. Just a warning though, even though there is nothing more important than the health of my patients, I love to have fun. I do goofy things all the time, because I do believe that laughter is the best medicine. I love teasing and joking around with the children. The greatest reward I get is when a child, who was very nervous, smiles through the visit. I love that the most! My children (I have two) have shown me how tough being a parent can be. Thank goodness it is very rewarding! I find it very helpful to pass along my wisdom and understanding to my family. I have learned quite a bit between raising my children and travelling. I love to travel and most weekends, if I am off, we spend travelling around the area exploring the world. My children are my greatest joy and I understand that most parents feel that way. That is why it is such an honor to have the trust of the parents.
