Dr Hilary is moving to Montana! We are so sad to see her go but happy she will be enjoying the rugged midwest she has always dreamed of. Here is the first of three letters from Dr Hilary to our families:
Dear Families of Birmingham Pediatrics:
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing I will be leaving Birmingham Pediatrics + Wellness as of August 16 due to my husband and I relocating to the state of Montana. As you may or may not know, my husband is also a physician and recently completed his residency education in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (congratulations Dan!). The completion of residency marks the end of medical education for those of us choosing primary care specialties. Residency allows physicians to explore the different aspects of a specialty and find their personal areas of interest within the field. Through this process, and after much deliberation, Dan and my interests have led us to new positions in Montana. This has been a very difficult decision for us given how great of a fit Birmingham Pediatrics has been for me. It has also been difficult knowing we are leaving both of our families in Michigan. As new graduates and newlyweds, we feel this is an important opportunity to spread our Midwestern wings before settling down with a family of our own.
Birmingham Pediatrics has provided me a great first year of my post-residency career in which I have learned a lot and built excellent relationships with patients and coworkers. It has been my pleasure getting to know your families and providing care for your children over the past year. I will also sincerely miss my colleagues and clinic staff members and know you will be in good hands with Dr. Yusra, Dr. Molly, NP Lori, and NP Jessica. I will be in clinic through August 16 and hope to see many of you in person before then!
